Thatcham DTC Agility Classes (Please note we are now totally full up and have a long waiting list. We are no longer taking names, sorry)! "Speed is a by product of understanding and confidence"
Agility is the fastest growing dog sport around and it's no wonder that hundreds of people flock to shows all over the country each year. You may have seen agility on Crufts, at your local County Fair or at Horse Shows such as Olympia. Dogs and their humans race around a set of obstacles showing off awesome speed and accuracy and most importantly having a lot of fun!
Gemma and Nic are the trainers for Thatcham DTC and have experience and enthusiasm in all aspects of agility training. Gemma has been involved in agility for over 12 years and has qualified for many major finals. She has been to Crufts on various occasions and has a wealth of knowledge learned through years of practice and training days. Her young dog 'Boo' had an amazing 2005 winning 12 Novice Classes two Opens and an Intermediate. He also holds titles for the DIN 2005 Novice final, DIN 2006 Senior Final, Supadogs 2006 Senior Final and qualified for the Genesis Performance Novice Final, The Novice Derby Final and Novice Olympia 2005 (in which he came 2nd) and Senior Olympia 2006. Click here to see a video of Gemma working Boo! Nic is newer to agility but he loves everything about it. In the time Nic has been involved with agility he has won many starters titles and is well on his way to really getting together with his youngster. Nic is great with unconfident dogs and motivational work and equally at home teaching experienced and fast dogs tight turns and faster contacts etc. Click here for more Agility Videos! We DO NOT use other inexperienced trainers. You will only be taught by Gemma and Nic or the occasional guest trainer. We use new and high quality equipment supplied by Jaycee Jumps. Guest Trainers are only people who have really impressed us with their methods. Training Days we have arranged so far are Toni Dawkins, David Munnings & Amanda Pigg. Click here to read more about our training days we have arranged. If you are new to agility you may be required to pass a Pre- Agility course before you will be accepted to train agility with us. All our agility classes are aimed towards speed and consistency. We encourage the use of toys and titbits in all our classes. Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings our Starters/ Novice and Senior/ Advanced groups are for Standard dogs only. We also run a mixed ability small/ medium group for the smaller dogs. |
