Toni Dawkins/ Natasha Wise Training
Weekend
We have a fantastic weekend of Agility on offer for Thatcham DTC
members and friends. Natasha Wise and Toni
Dawkins have agreed to run some training for us. It
will be held at: Brewery Fields Farm, Southend, Chapel Row, Berkshire RG7 6JP.
This venue is in a sand school but it does get windy and isn’t totally
weatherproof so bring suitable clothing and shoes.
Natasha Wise has been at the top of the Agility scene
for many years. She has had a fantastic 2008
season, winning two tickets with her large BC Maddie making her an Agility
Champion and winning nearly
every class she is in with her Medium BC Dizzy beating advanced dogs on her
first season out!
Toni Dawkins continues to have a fantastic career with
all her dogs. Her older dog Kite is an Agility
Champion and is probably the most successful Large dog over the last few years.
Tonis younger dog Minx
also was made up to an Agility Champion this year and continues to be near
unbeatable in the Medium
classes.
As you can see from below, we have decided on a different format to usual,
opting for two hour slots with
small groups, rather than three hour slots with larger groups.
We have found this works much better as dogs and people seem to focus
much better with smaller groups and shorter sessions.
The idea of this weekend is for you to participate in
both days training. Toni and Natasha have very similar
ideas on training but with subtle differences which we
hope will give you two views and sometimes two
choices on how to improve yourself and your dogs performance.
The focus for this weekend will be primarily on jumping
and handling skills. The groups may have a chance to
work some contacts and weaves depending on progress
and standards within your set although we plan the contacts
and weaves to be part of sequences rather than individual focus sessions.
The Weekends plan is:
Natasha Wise: Saturday the 11th October 2008
o 9am-11am Competition Group 1 (dogs should be doing all equipment and
sequencing)
o 11.30am-1.30pm Competition Group 2 (dogs should be doing all equipment and
sequencing)
o 3pm- 5pm Young/ inexperienced dogs (dogs should be doing all/ most equipment)
Toni Dawkins: Sunday the 12th October 2008
o 9am-11am Young/ inexperienced dogs (dogs should be doing all/ most equipment)
o 11.30am-1.30pm Competition Group 1 (dogs should be doing all equipment and
sequencing)
o 3pm- 5pm Competition Group 2 (dogs should be
doing all equipment and sequencing)
Each group will contain no more than six handlers and
their dogs. The cost is £55.00 for both sessions. Or

We will try to keep groups at the same level as much as
possible. Please e-mail me to book your spot with
your Name/ dogs name and dogs level (approx level for Oct 08)!
THE PUB IS..? ‘The Bladebone Inn’: Right out the venue.
Immediate Left (Hungerford Lane). Right at the
end. Pub is a short way down on the right. (Where the map says Chapel Row)
Lunch will be from 1.30pm- 3pm. Please let Gemma know when you book your
spot if you would like a table place at lunchtime.
